One of my favourite blogs out there is Use Real Butter. I love the recipes (I'm making the breakfast sausages for my birthday this weekend), the photography, but most of all, the fact that it's free of all the ubiquitous marketing and desperate attempts to become the next big thang in terms of a career.
Right now, I have a career I love, so let's get that out of the way first. I don't blog because I want to become the next totally fabulous Pioneer Woman.
Although, I do love the Pioneer Woman's blog. And she is fabulous.
I started blogging years ago, when I first moved to Japan, and I think I still do it for the same reasons: it's a way to keep in touch with people, and to communicate my passion for whatever it is I happen to be up to.
Odds are I will never be a famous blogger, nor will I have a cookbook deal in the works, nor a novel chronicling how I met my husband. I'll never get huge amounts of traffic. But, at the end of the day, I'll have written memory of a period in my life, and that's really cool. And, I'll have had the opportunity to talk with all of you, which is doubly cool.

Well, I'd say I blog for a few different reasons.
Our house blog is there to help keep family and friends updated with all the crazy stuff we've decided to take on with this house. We're perfectly aware that we'll never be the next YHL, but if we can help one person, then hey, that's awesome.
My fitness blog is more like a journal, but up on the internets. That one is more for me than for anyone else, because sometimes there's just stuff you have to write down, and I've never really been one for a pen and paper journal. I know I'm not perfect, and that my way isn't the only way, but if me going through the stuff and writing (infrequently) about it helps inspire juts one person to put down the Barbie weights and pick up a real dumbbell, then hey, I'd say that means mission accomplished.

And also, I love your blog. I love that you're so daring with some of the things you take on, and well, I've loved everything I'd made that you've blogged so far, and have lots more starred for later!
